On July 22, 2026, China Changan Automobile Group and China Telecom signed a strategic partnership agreement in Beijing, with Changan Chairman Zhu Huarong and China Telecom Chairman Ke Ruiwen framing it as opening a new chapter of cooperation across intelligent vehicles, digital infrastructure and industrial applications.
Zhu Huarong said the two state-owned groups, building on years of prior cooperation, will combine Changan's automotive expertise with China Telecom's communications and digital capabilities so that digital connectivity technologies strengthen the infrastructure underpinning intelligent vehicles while Changan's vehicle development and manufacturing operations serve as deployment scenarios for information technologies, with both sides aiming to build an integrated ecosystem spanning vehicles, communications networks, cloud platforms and satellites.
Ke Ruiwen said China Telecom is advancing a strategy centered on cloud services, digital transformation and AI-enabled applications, and is developing a "five-in-one" intelligent cloud architecture as part of the partnership.
