Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) is recalling 33,473 X9 electric MPVs in China starting August 28, covering vehicles built between August 8, 2023 and August 11, 2025, per a SAMR announcement released Friday.
Manufacturing process fluctuations reduced airtightness in the front air springs of some units, which may slowly leak and affect handling in extreme cases; Chongqing owners had reported air suspension failures while driving in hot weather.
The recall follows Xpeng's apology a week earlier, when it acknowledged the air spring failures in high temperatures and extended the warranty on the related system.

小鹏（NYSE: XPEV）将在中国召回33473辆X9电动MPV，召回自8月28日开始，涉及2023年8月8日至2025年8月11日生产的车辆，据国家市场监督管理总局周五发布的公告。
部分车辆因制造工艺波动导致前悬架空气弹簧气密性下降，可能缓慢泄漏，极端情况下影响车辆操控；此前重庆多名车主反映高温行驶时空气悬架出现故障。
此次召回是在小鹏一周前就该问题道歉、并宣布延长相关系统保修期之后进行的。
