South Korean autonomous driving company Autonomous A2Z signed an 11 billion won (approximately $7.7 million) contract with UAE-based AI company Space42 to supply autonomous driving vehicles, technology, and an integrated operations system to TXAI, Space42's autonomous mobility service in the UAE.
A2Z will deliver 19 vehicles in total, including eight driverless Level 4 "ROii" roboshuttles, completely replacing TXAI's existing Chinese-made fleet.
Pilot operations will begin on Abu Dhabi's Saadiyat Island and Yas Island in the second half of this year, with plans to later expand into demand-responsive transit (DRT) and tourism shuttle services.
