Battery materials startup Sila announced a $300 million funding round on July 21, 2026, to expand its Moses Lake, Washington factory for silicon-carbon anode production.
The expanded facility will produce tens of GWh per year, powering over 100,000 EVs annually, with Sila's anode material offering 40% higher energy density and faster charging than traditional graphite anodes.
Sila supplies to Mercedes and Panasonic, providing a critical alternative to Chinese-dominated graphite supply chains (which control 75% of the market) and addressing automaker concerns about supply concentration and tariffs.
