China disclosed on August 2, 2026, per a CCTV News report, the implementation requirements of recommended national standard GB/T 46991.1-2025, which sets accuracy and durability requirements for battery health display systems in light-duty passenger EVs.
The standard limits the deviation between the dashboard-displayed battery available energy status and the physically measured value to no more than 5%.
It also establishes reference levels for battery durability, giving buyers and regulators a standardized benchmark to gauge battery degradation and display reliability across the light-duty EV segment.
