Qualcomm announced Wednesday, July 29, 2026, that it signed a long-term deal to become BMW's lead compute silicon supplier for digital cockpit, ADAS, and autonomous driving systems, with the partnership running through the next decade; no financial terms were disclosed.
The deal spans Qualcomm's Snapdragon Cockpit, Snapdragon Ride, and Snapdragon Elite platforms plus dedicated AI accelerators, building on the Snapdragon Ride Pilot hands-free driving system already deployed in the BMW iX3 since its November 2025 launch.
The agreement strengthens Qualcomm's position in automotive compute against rivals Nvidia and Mobileye, which are also competing for long-term chip-supply deals with major automakers.
