BMW launched the iX3 — the first model of its next-generation Neue Klasse EV platform — at BMW dealers across Japan, priced from ¥9.82M with deliveries starting late July, achieving a WLTC range of 906km on the 4WD dual-motor iX3 50 xDrive.
The car debuts 6th-generation BMW eDrive (Gen6) tech: a cell-to-pack 109.1kWh battery built from 46mm-diameter, 95mm-tall cylindrical cells, and an 800V architecture that makes it the BMW Group's first EV to support 320kW DC charging (15 min for ~395km, 10-80% in ~26 min, up to ~420km per 15 min once planned 350kW/400kW chargers like those at Ebina service area arrive), plus V2H/V2L bidirectional power supply.
It is also BMW's first model with a front induction motor (paired with a rare-earth-free wound-field synchronous motor at the rear) and the new BMW Panoramic iDrive cockpit — a 43.3-inch windscreen-spanning Panoramic Vision display, a 17.9-inch center touchscreen tilted 17.5° toward the driver, and BMW's first 3D head-up display with AR navigation overlay.
