FAW-Volkswagen officially unveiled the Jetta M6, the independent Jetta brand's first battery-electric sedan, positioning it to rival the Xpeng Mona M03 and the MG 07 in China.
Founded in 2019 to sell petrol-only models in China, Jetta saw ICE deliveries fall 13.1% year-over-year to 47,811 units in H1 2026, prompting the brand to expand into overseas markets and announce a shift toward new-energy vehicles.
The M6's launch reflects Volkswagen's broader push to lift its NEV market share in China as shrinking domestic ICE demand squeezes legacy petrol-focused brands like Jetta.
