Dutch charging provider Allego plans to invest €100 million to install up to 1,400 ultra-fast EV charging stations across Great Britain by 2030, focusing on high-traffic sites and densely populated urban areas, with London as the priority market.
For the rollout, Allego is pursuing partnerships with retailers, food-service operators, and property owners, under a model in which Allego itself finances, builds, and operates the charging infrastructure while site owners receive long-term lease payments.
Founded in 2013 in Arnhem as part of Dutch grid operator Alliander, Allego retains ownership of the charging infrastructure it deploys, making the UK push an extension of its established owner-operator model.
