At the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference media roundtable on July 27, Guo Shougang, Director of MIIT's Department of Equipment Industry, briefed reporters on China's next steps for the intelligent connected new-energy vehicle (NEV) industry.
MIIT will accelerate drafting and issuing the industry's 15th Five-Year Plan, thoroughly implement the National Standardization Development Outline, achieve breakthroughs in a batch of key core technologies, and speed up development, international coordination and implementation of priority standards.
The ministry will also deepen pilots for "vehicle-road-cloud integration" (车路云一体化), production admission and road-access trials, aiming to build an ecosystem connecting the entire industry chain.
