Toyota Motor North America announced a $3.6 billion investment in its San Antonio, Texas plant to build a second vehicle assembly line, set to begin operations in 2030.
The new line will create over 2,000 jobs and lift the plant's annual production capacity by approximately 150,000 units.
Over roughly four years, Tacoma mid-size pickup production will move from Toyota's Baja California (TMMBC) plant in Mexico to San Antonio, part of Toyota's "best-company-in-town" strategy to strengthen locally rooted, competitive manufacturing.
