On July 8, 2026, Yijing Automotive — a premium NEV brand co-developed by Dongfeng and Huawei — announced a strategic partnership with Chengdu Rongcheng Football Club for the 2026 Chinese Super League season, linking Chengdu's NEV manufacturing base with the city's sports culture.
Yijing's Chengdu plant, positioned as both Yijing's Southwest Smart Manufacturing Center and Huawei Qiankun's Southwest ecosystem manufacturing hub, has completed smart upgrades with automated production, AI vision inspection and industrial robots, combining Dongfeng's vehicle-manufacturing experience with Huawei's quality system to build the flagship X9 SUV — Yijing's first true "Chengdu-made" model — equipped with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system, 896-line dual-optical-path LiDAR and a HarmonySpace cockpit.
The X9 supply chain now includes Huawei, CATL and more than 30 local component suppliers, underscoring Chengdu's role — a city with one of China's largest NEV ownership bases — as Yijing's strategic hub for scaling production and expanding into the wider southwest China market.
