Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed a decree officially launching the "Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy" (EVIS), a program worth up to 60 billion pesos (around €852 million) to boost domestic production of electrified vehicles.
EVIS provides investment and production incentives for locally manufactured battery-electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fuel-cell vehicles — covering both passenger cars and commercial vehicles — as well as their parts and components.
The decree states EVIS aims to strengthen local production of EVs and their parts and components, positioning the Philippines to capture manufacturing investment as Southeast Asia's automotive industry accelerates its shift toward electrification.
