On July 27, 2026, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) held a media roundtable in Beijing for the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference (WICV), briefed by officials including MIIT's Guo Shougang, the Ministry of Transport's Weng Youling, Beijing's Su Guobin, and experts from CAAM, CSAE, CATARC and CAICT, moderated by MIIT spokesperson Gong Xian.
WICV, China's first State Council-approved national-level intelligent connected vehicle conference, has run eight successful editions since 2018; the 9th edition will be held October 21-23, 2026 at the Beijing Yizhuang Beiren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center, co-hosted by MIIT, the Ministry of Transport and the Beijing Municipal Government under the theme "Convergence of Wisdom, Boundless Connectivity — Steadily Advancing into a New Era of Autonomous Driving."
The conference will comprise 3 plenary sessions, 3 featured events, 6 thematic forums and multiple concurrent side events, aiming to release the latest industry achievements and present the practices and development blueprint for the new era of autonomous driving.
